Transport Links and Travel Information

There are excellent transport links to get you to the start of the Southern section of the Wye Valley Walk  and safely back home again.

By Air

Bristol Airport

From the airport, a taxi is the easiest option.  They cost around £54 from Bristol airport to Chepstow.

*Note that the National Express takes you to Cardiff first and can take up to nearly 4 hours to reach Chepstow. 

By Train or

Arrive/depart: Chepstow station 

Arrive/depart: Hereford  station


National Express

Arrive/depart: Thomas Street, Bus Station, Chepstow

There are no stops near Hay-on-Wye.

By Car - Long Stay Car Parks

£42 per week

Daily rate £8.40 – weekdays and £5.00 weekends  

Contact Monmouthshire County Council to arrange long stay parking in Chepstow.

Daily rate (approx.) £4.40 (check with council).
